22-year-old attacker is looking to seal transfer to Tottenham this month

Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish is ‘expecting’ to sign for Tottenham Hotspur before the transfer window closes, based on the Evening Standard‘s claim.

Spurs have been the clear favourites to swoop for Grealish all summer, but talks with Villa slowed down as club chairman Daniel Levy attempted to decrease the asking price.

The 22-year-old has reportedly informed those around him that Tottenham is the club which he would like to join and he is indeed expecting a move to Spurs to be completed before the window closes.

Reports from Tuesday also indicated that a deal to sign the midfielder was close, following a breakthrough in negotiations between Villa and Tottenham.

Grealish was involved in the play-off final clash with Fulham in May, which saw Villa lose 1-0 as they barely missed out on promotion to the Premier League.

The summer transfer window will be closed next week, much earlier than it has been in previous years.
