£350,000-a-week star is willing to accept pay-cut to complete Tottenham transfer

Even though reports on Monday shut the door almost firmly closed on any potential deal to sign Gareth Bale this summer, other sources are suggesting that there is some hope for Tottenham.

The Welshman set the Premier League alight for a couple of seasons before agreeing to make a move to Real Madrid in 2013, a deal which made him the world’s most expensive player at the time.

Monday’s rumours claimed that the 28-year-old’s possible return to Tottenham was unlikely because of his high wages.

However, the Independent is reporting that Bale is willing to take a pay-cut for the deal to happen due to his interest in a romantic Spurs return.

Bale’s lack of regular action at the Santiago Bernabeu for the past two to three campaigns has witnessed rumours claim that he is eying move back to England.

The prolific forward, an earner of £350,000-a-week wages, stated after last Saturday’s Champions League final that he would be sitting down with his agent to make a decision over his future at Madrid very soon.
