Manchester City playmaker and four-time Premier League winner David Silva has added his thoughts on which team he believes has the advantage, on paper at least, ahead of the final of the Champions League against Liverpool this Saturday.
Spurs have reached the final of the most elite club competition after a remarkable string of comebacks which started in the group stage.
Despite being drawn against teams like Inter Milan and Barcelona, Tottenham found a way to survive the first round of the competition to get past German contenders Borussia Dortmund in the round of 16.
It was in the quarterfinals of the Champions League where Spurs faced Premier League foes Manchester City, whom they managed to defeat on away goals.
David Silva was a member of the City side which succumbed to Spurs in one of the most dramatic second legs of the competition at the Etihad stadium.
And ahead of the final, the Spanish midfielder has revealed that Liverpool are the ‘favourites’ to win.
“In theory, Liverpool are the favourites after the season they’ve had but anything can happen in the game,” Silva told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
“We’ve already seen that this season the Champions League has been a bit crazy; last minute goals, comebacks. Anything can happen.”
