Former Tottenham Hotspur star Gary Lineker has made a strong claim about Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale in his preview of the Champions League final.
The 28-year-old forward has continued to be linked with a return to Spurs after leaving the club almost five years ago.
Following Bale’s departure, many expected Tottenham to struggle to find a talismanic replacement who could take the club back into the Champions League.
But up stepped Harry Kane who has taken a shorter while than most to reach the 100-goal mark for the club after breaking into the first team a couple of years ago.
As a result, Gary Lineker has stated that Kane is indeed above Bale at the moment, even though rumours are still spreading about the Welshman’s return to London this summer.
“You’d put Harry Kane marginally ahead of him over the last couple of seasons.” Lineker told the Times
“You’ve got to play a lot of football to justify that tag.”
Regardless of who is better than who in a comparison between the pair, it would be an absolute joy to see them both feature in Tottenham’s attack next season.
Haha Likener indeed
