Gary Lineker has shared his reaction over the decision to hand Tottenham striker Harry Kane the England armband ahead of the World Cup.
Kane has come long way since breaking into the Spurs first team without much expectation from many fans a couple of years ago.
The striker finished as the team’s top scorer yet again last season, as he racked up more than 40 goals in all competitions.
Kane’s exploits in Tottenham’s colours has seen him attract the interest of a clubs like Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
What his prolific form has also earned him is recognition from England boss Gareth Southgate who decided to appoint him as the national team’s new captain for the World Cup.
Kane will be leading the Three Lions squad out of the dressing room in Russia this summer and that has seen former Tottenham Hotspur star Gary Lineker send out congratulations.
Congratulations to @HKane on being named @England captain for the World Cup. A much merited honour. Good luck.
