Tottenham Hotspur may now be fancying their chances of making it to the next stage of the Champions League, more than ever.
The north London side did well to come from behind after going two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the round of 16 tie against Juventus last month.
The two sides are set to lock horns again in the second leg on Wednesday, and while a majority of the Tottenham squad will be available for selection, the same cannot be said of their opponents.
Juventus are now sweating over the fitness of key striker Gonzalo Higuan ahead of next week’s clash.
Ahead of this weekend’s fixture against Lazio in the Serie A, Max Allegri has confirmed that Higuan will not be in action, raising more concerns that he could be sidelined on Wednesday as well.
“Higuain is not available right now. He hasn’t trained for a few days and we’ll see if he is available on Saturday.” the Juventus boss said
“That is the most important game right now – London and Tottenham can wait. It’s not an obsession.
“I realise it’s an important game in a marvellous stadium and we want to progress with a good performance on the European stage, but it mustn’t be an obsession.”
