Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-Min Son has expressed his excitement ahead of the start of the new season this weekend.
The South Korea international was in superb form for Spurs last term, helping the club reach the final of the Champions League.
The highlight of Son’s season came in the dramatic semi-final clash with Manchester City, where he scored twice against the run of play in the second leg to keep Tottenham’s hopes alive at the Etihad stadium.
Fortunately for Mauricio Pochettino, the 27-year-old has opted to remain in north London for another year.
Son’s commitment to the club has never been in doubt, and the forward has revealed how he is feeling ahead of the new season.
The ex-Bundesliga star has also enjoyed a longer break this year than the one he was given last summer.
Thus, Son has admitted that he cannot wait for the start of another long journey at Tottenham.
“Yes, my head will be freer than last season, so I will be even more focused,” he said, as per the club’s official website
“I can’t wait. Even when I was on my break in the summer, I worked really hard. Mentally, I was always here.
“I want this season to be better than last season. That will be difficult but I will try my best. I just want to pay back the fans for their support.”
