‘I’m quite certain’ – Balague delivers significant information on potential Eriksen move

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has provided some more information about the future of Totteham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen after the opening of the summer transfer window.

The Danish international has very often been rumoured to be unlikely to remain at the club with his contract not yet renewed to a satisfactory level even though fellow key stars Harry Kane and Dele Alli have all been rewarded with new deals in recent times.

Eriksen has not exactly enjoyed a fantastic season but he has been efficient in the attacking midfield area for Tottenham, having scored some decisive goals at various times in the season.

The two big Spanish clubs have always been a threat when it comes to turning the heads of Spurs players and it is not entirely a surprise that Christian Eriksen has ocassionally been linked with Real Madrid.

This is expected to be a summer of rebuilding at the Santiago Bernabeu after the return of Zinedine Zidane.

Luka Modric is one player who could make way according to Balague, who, speaking to the Daily Express on Tuesday [11:15am] claimed that Madrid have finally decided who they want to sign to replace him.

“I’m quite certain [Real president] Florentino Perez and the club would like Eriksen instead,” the journalist said. “[He would be] cheaper and a more Real Madrid player.

“Modric I believe they want to sell because they need to raise money, so you don’t have Modric but you have Eriksen, that’s sorted out.”
