‘Massive blow’ – Gary Lineker says Spurs have suffered major blow after player’s injury on Wednesday

BBC pundit and former footballer Gary Lineker has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur suffered a significant blow in the trip to Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Spurs went into the match at the Etihad stadium with a slender lead after a late goal from Son had given them the advantage in the first leg at the club’s new ground.

Even though Tottenham finished off the job against Manchester City as they qualified for the semifinals of the competition, that did not come without some worrying moments.

Indeed, late in the first half of the game, Moussa Sissoko hobbled off with what appeared to be a muscle injury as he was replaced by Fernando Llorente.

The Frenchman has been a much-maligned figure in the Tottenham team but his absence was felt in the second half as Manchester City piled the pressure on Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

According to Gary Lineker, Spurs really have suffered a blow with the injury to Sissoko on Wednesday.
