Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura has issued a rallying call for the rest of his teammates ahead of what will be a very decisive final few months of the season.
Spurs started off the 2018/19 campaign in good form and until recently, they had kept themselves in the conversation over who could go on to win the Premier League.
Despite the absence of Harry Kane due to injury, Tottenham put together a long winning streak in January which was surprisingly ended away at Burnley on a very frustrating afternoon which saw the team suffer a 2-1 loss.
Ever since that defeat, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have struggled to keep hold of their place in the top four of the Premier League with rivals Arsenal and Manchester United now within touching distance.
Nonetheless, Lucas Moura, who moved to the club in January last year, has called for his teammates to start believing in themselves again because there is still a lot to play for this season.
“Yes, a difficult moment for us,” the Brazilian star admitted in an interview with Tottenham’s official website.
“I believe in this team,” stated the jet-heeled Brazilian. “We are still third in the Premier League. We’ve been up there all season and there are a lot of teams who can challenge for the top four, but we are there. We are also in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. We have to believe.”
