During the summer transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur decided to finally splash the cash as Tanguy Ndombele was signed from Lyon in a record-breaking deal.
The midfielder moved to the Premier League with a promising reputation, having impressed in Champions League games the season before.
But almost half-way through his first season in north London, it has been a roller-coaster start to life as a Tottenham star for Ndombele, who has been in and out of the starting eleven.
Ndombele, having been plagued by injuries so far this campaign, is now fit and ready to go as he looks to regain a regular spot in the first team.
And speaking ahead of the big clash with Chelsea in the Premier League, Mourinho has heaped praise on the Frenchman, while revealing that he is capable of playing in three different positions in midfield.
“Clearly you could feel that in the first two, three four matches I was very careful of trying to get the players into some stability and some dynamic.” the Tottenham boss said, as quoted by Football.London
“But Tanguy can play as a six, as an eight, as a double. He is a player with a lot of quality, he just needs to be physically strong and mentally adapted to the Premier League.
“The French league is a completely different story, a completely different profile. But [he’s a] fantastic talent so we are happy that he can help us.”
Spurs will be hoping to defeat the Blues this weekend to maintain their push for a top four finish.
