Former Everton and Manchester United boss David Moyes has come to the defence of Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino and lauded him for bringing something that the club had been missing for a while.
Spurs have not exactly been in great form so far this season, and it appears as though the abysmal run in the Premier League towards the end of last term has continued.
The club will have to fight very hard to retain a place in the top four after a tough start to the new campaign, only months after playing in the final of the Champions League.
Even though Spurs finally returned to winning ways by securing a thumping win in the Champions League on Tuesday night, there is still a lot of work to do to undo the damage which has been done so far this season.
But in response to critics who may be questioning the future of Pochettino at the club, David Moyes has applauded what the Argentine tactician has actually brought to Tottenham over the course of his reign.
“I think Pochettino is the first manager for a long time that has brought stability to Tottenham Hotspur,” Moyes told TalKSport.
“I think prior to that, Tottenham they were always changing their manager, they weren’t quite sure who it was going to be and there was always talk.
“I think he has brought a great period to Tottenham. I do think Tottenham will be looking to move one or two players on [in January] and try to freshen it up and for some reasons, those players haven’t gone. Tottenham have always had a reputation of not paying as much money [in wages] as other clubs.”
