Former Tottenham Hotspur player Lewis Holtby has looked back on his time at the club and spoken about the sort of treatment that he received from the Spurs fans.
Tottenham fans have often been regarded as one of the most passionate out of all the big clubs in England and they have shown that level of dedication over the past couple of years as the club steps into a new era as one of the biggest names in European football.
For a few years, Lewis Holtby was a player who got the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the Tottenham faithful as he represented the Lilywhites.
The German was on the books of Spurs for two seasons after joining the club in 2013.
And even though Holtby was not at the club for too long, his experience regarding the fans left quite an impression on him.
The midfielder – who made his debut for the team against Newcastle – has reflected on his time at the club and heaped praise on Tottenham fans for being unique.
“The first game at the Lane against Newcastle was unbelievable.” he said, as quoted by HITC
“The fans had a song for me straight away, they pulled me close. They made me feel at home straight away. That is something quite unique, I’ve never witnessed that before.”
