Noel Gallagher sends Tottenham this strong message ahead of Champions League final

Musician Noel Gallagher has sent out a strong message to Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the club’s biggest game in its history against Liverpool in the Champions League final next month.

Spurs were not considered as one of the contenders to win the European crown at the start of this season, especially after being placed in what looked like a very tough group which featured the likes of Barcelona and Inter Milan – clubs who have both won the Champions League over the past decade.

However, confidence started to build up after Tottenham emphatically defeated Borussia Dortmund – a team in red-hot form at the time – in the round of 16 of the competition to set up a match-anticipated quarterfinal clash against Premier League champions Manchester City.

Spurs managed to see off Pep Guardiola’s side in a dramatic tie and that drama was topped by Lucas Moura’s hat-trick heroics as the club defeated Ajax in the semi-final of the competition.

With Liverpool now to play in the final of the Champions League, some fans who dislike Jurgen Klopp’s side are calling on Spurs to get the job done.

And Noel Gallagher – who is originally a Manchester City fan – is one of them.

“Come on Tottenham, you need to do it for British football,” said Gallagher on BBC Radio 5 Live (18:44, Sunday).
