Player set for medical at Tottenham after club reaches transfer agreement

After more than a year of absolutely no signings for the first team, Tottenham Hotspur are now odds-on to welcome their new addition this month.

Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with the acquisition of several midfielders, ever since Mousa Dembele was given the green light to leave the club back in January.

Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele has emerged as the player whom the Spurs boss has been most eager to sign and a deal to bring him to north London is nearing its completion.

Based on a report by the Daily Mail, the 22-year-old is set to undergo a medical at Tottenham on Tuesday.

Spurs are claimed to have agreed a deal worth around £56.5m with Lyon to sign the midfielder, but add-ons could see the total payment rise to £65m.

Ndombele is expected to complete his medical within the next day before he puts pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Premier League side.

Here are some highlights from the 22-year-old, who is believed to have arrived in London for the finalization of his transfer.
