Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that the squad is expecting a key return for the upcoming clash with Ajax in the Champions League in midweek.
Spurs will be hoping to make major history by reaching the Champions League final this season but the only thing standing between them and a place on the biggest stage of all is Dutch contenders Ajax.
With Harry Kane injured and Son suspended, Tottenham were without several key players in the first leg of the semifinal tie last week and to make matters worse, Jan Vertoghen suffered a concussion which meant his night was brought to an early end on Tuesday.
The Belgium star will be needed in Amsterdam if Spurs are to make a comeback to secure a spot in the final of the competition.
And speaking to Football London, Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that he is expecting the defender – who scored in the tie against Dortmund – to make a return on Wednesday.
“We’ll see, we hope yes. He was training well yesterday, I think he can be available.” the Spurs boss said ahead of the trip to Ajax.
