Spurs ‘make offer of £34m’ to sign 21-year-old midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer for Tanguy Ndombele, based on reports coming from France at the start of this week.

Mousa Dembele’s undecided future has handed Mauricio Pochettino the task of having to find a potential replacement for the Belgium international before next season begins.

Therefore, the Tottenham manager is keeping tabs on midfielders of Ndombele’s calibre, who are likely to add both depth and quality to the squad.

Reports from France claim a bid of €40m (£34m) has been made for the 21-year-old Frenchman, who is also being chased by other big clubs.

Lyon, however, are rumoured to be holding out for a fee of €60m (£52m) with a number of Premier League rivals tipped to enter the running for Ndombele’s services.

The report goes on to say that Chelsea could battle Spurs for the youngster’s signature if N’Golo Kante does end up leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.

Ndombele has earned nine caps for France Under-21s.
