Spurs secure agreement with South American star over deal

By the looks of things, the club is choosing to take care of internal deals before other priorities in the transfer market are even placed into consideration.

Judging from how rival clubs have lost their key players due to lack of protectiveness in contract situations, it is reassuring to see Daniel Levy and company choose a different policy.

And that contract policy continued on Tuesday as Davinson Sanchez agreed to sign a new deal with the club.

The 21-year-old only joined Tottenham from Ajax a year ago after being pursued by some of the biggest clubs around Europe due to his performances in the Dutch Eredivisie.

And after a season in north London, it is clear that Sanchez has earned the faith of Mauricio Pochettino.

The Colombia international is one of many in the current squad who are viewed as the future of the club and his new deal will not expire until the summer of 2024.

Even though he has his flaws, Sanchez has proven himself to be a solid defender and more signings like him are what we need in other areas of the pitch.
