Spurs to fight Liverpool for signing of 25-year-old attacker

Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to sign Lyon’s much-coveted playmaker Nabil Fekir, based on reports in Italy broken by Calcio Mercato.

The Frenchman, who is also a target for Liverpool, is performing brilliantly in the Ligue 1 with 7 goals and 4 assists in 18 appearances, which is a continuation of his form from last season.

Despite his injury troubles, Fekir is still an exciting prospect and he could be readily available this year as his contract expires in 2020 with Lyon seeking to cash out on the playmaker or risk him leaving for free.

Tottenham are seeking at least one forward in the market due to the current shortage of attacking options with Harry Kane out injured until at least March and Heung-min Son on duty in the Asian Cup.

Spurs are expected to face competition from Liverpool who tried to sign Fekir in the summer and are still in the market for the Frenchman.
