Spurs willing to move for £22m signing of midfielder

Tottenham have shown an interest in luring Colombia’s World Cup star Juan Quintero from FC Porto this summer, based on a new report by the Sun.

Mauricio Pochettino is aware that he will need a deeper squad to compete in the Champions League next season as the club prepares for the possible opening of a new stadium as well.

Quintero, who is also being pursued by Champions League winners, Real Madrid, was part of the Colombia team which was knocked out by England in the World Cup.

Reports are stating that the midfielder has a price tag of £22million and Spurs are keen on making a move to sign him.

Quintero is currently at River Plate, on loan from FC Porto, after choosing to return to South America during the January transfer window this year.

The fact that Mousa Dembele’s future at the club has remained unresolved means a new midfielder will most likely be needed.
