A year ago, fans of Tottenham Hotspur were left with nothing to really look forward to in terms of squad reinforcement as the club failed to secure the acquisition of any players.
But 12 months later, it is Spurs supporters who are feeling optimistic after Daniel Levy’s success in securing the signing of highly-rated midfielder Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon.
The deal is the most expensive transfer ever completed by Tottenham in history and based on the Frenchman’s performances last term, the price might just be justified.
It is a signing which has left former Spurs star Jermaine Jenas excited ahead of the new season.
The BBC pundit watched his old club come very close to becoming champions of Europe last term, and he is delighted by Tottenham’s new addition.
According to Jenas, the signing of Ndombele is a ‘strong statement’ from the club, going into a season where Spurs fans may be expecting some sort of challenge for the Premier League title.
Strong statement from Spurs, looking forward to seeing what Tanguy Ndombele brings to the team next season.
