Tottenham make move for £72m midfielder signing with ‘talks ongoing’

Tottenham are making an approach to clinch a deal to sign Geoffrey Kondogbia from Valencia, based on a report by the Sun.

With less than a month remaining in the summer transfer window, Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy have both been placed under severe pressure by fans who have not been happy with the club’s lack of spending in the transfer market thus far.

The fact that Mousa Dembele’s future has remained unresolved means signing a new midfielder is likely to be one of the club’s priorities as the transfer window nears its deadline.

The latest report indicates that Tottenham have made an approach for the signing of Kondogbia with ‘talks ongoing’ between the two clubs.

Valencia have set a £72million release clause in the midfielder’s contract and the new claims suggest that Spurs are still interested in securing a deal to sign the 25-year-old.
