Toby Alderweireld sends out message on Twitter as some Spurs fans respond

Even with serious speculation surrounding his future at the club, Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has kept his head up and acted very much like a player who is committed to the club beyond this season.

The 30-year-old has made a name in the Premier League as one of the best centre-backs around after being brought to the club in the summer of 2015 by Mauricio Pochettino in what has turned out to be a fantastic deal, looking back at it.

Ahead of this summer, Alderweireld has once again been linked with a departure and it is definitely uncomfortable to hear that the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal are still keeping tabs on his services.

After the win over Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Saturday – a major triumph which kept Spurs in third place in the table – Alderweireld sent out a message to hat-trick hero Lucas Moura.

After the defender’s further show of interest and commitment to the team and his teammates, some fans responded on social media by once again pleading for him to renew his contract.
