Tottenham make new move to sign £40m star as Levy gets active

Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with deals for several attacking midfielders this summer to increase Mauricio Pochettino’s options in attack for next season.

And based on a report by Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Spurs, led by chairman Daniel Levy, have made contact with Inter Milan over securing the signature of Ivan Perisic.

The Croatia international was frequently rumoured to be on his way to Manchester United last summer but the proposed £40m move could not be completed before the transfer deadline as he opted to remain in Italy for another year at least.

Perisic enjoyed a fine season last term as he helped Inter Milan secure a place in the Champions League for next season by managing to score 11 goals and registering nine assists as his side finished in fourth place in the Serie A table.

Tottenham are reported to have contacted the 28-year-old’s agent Fali Ramadani, even though Inter Milan have continued to maintain that the player is not available for sale.
