Tottenham willing to meet club’s £22m asking price for 21-goal striker

With the current Covid-19 virus outbreak prompting the suspension of elite football across Europe, there may be inevitable uncertainty over whether the 2019/20 season will actually be finished.

Nonetheless, the lengthened break has presented a chance for Jose Mourinho to identify and pursue his targets for the next transfer window.

Based on a report by Fanatik, Tottenham are willing to meet Fenerbahce’s £22 million asking price for striker Vedat Muriqi.

Spurs were claimed to be interested in Muriqi last month (Sporx) and now, Fanatik are also suggesting that the club is ready to match Fenerbahce’s demands for the potential sale of the attacker.

Jose Mourinho’s side is seemingly in competition with Serie A contenders Lazio for the striker’s services as Tottenham continue to seek possible alternatives to Harry Kane, whose future at the club remains in some doubt.

Muriqi had been one of the best players in Turkey prior to the season’s suspension, having racked up 21 goals from 41 appearances in all competitions, while also recording six assists.
