Former Tottenham Hotspur star Kyle Walker admitted his frustration after his current side were knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday night in an absolutely dramatic game at the Etihad stadium.
The England international developed his career as a top defender at White Hart Lane and in fact, Walker became one of the fans’ favourites under Mauricio Pochettino.
But the right-back could not resist the temptation when Pep Guardiola and Manchester City came calling in the summer of 2017, as he decided to move to the Etihad stadium in an expensive transfer deal.
Walker was facing his former club yet again on Wednesday night as Spurs looked to finish off the job in the Champions League tie against Manchester City.
A late goal from Fernando Llorente secured a wonderful result for Tottenham who have progressed into the semifinals of the competition.
After the dust settled, Walker admitted he was ‘absolutely gutted’ before going on to congratulate his old club and its fans in a rare show of class from the defender.
