Tottenham Hotspur have made an unsuccessful offer to complete the signing of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa, based on a report by the Independent.
Spurs have been the clear favourites to swoop for Grealish all summer, but talks with Villa slowed down as club chairman Daniel Levy attempted to decrease the asking price.
The 22-year-old has reportedly informed those around him that Tottenham is the club which he would like to join and he is indeed expecting a move to Spurs to be completed before the window closes.
However, Grealish’s potential move to North London might still not happen, following reports that Villa have rejected Spurs’ initial offer of £20m.
The Championship side are asking for a fee of £40m for the midfielder whom Tottenham have tracked all summer.
With only two days remaining in the summer transfer window, it remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy and his men will actually decided to increase their offer for Grealish.
