Tottenham Hotspur have been given brand new hope in the chase of former star Gareth Bale who is ‘closer to agreeing’ a move back to the club, based on a report by Don Balon in Spain.
Bale’s lack of regular action at the Santiago Bernabeu for the past two to three campaigns has witnessed rumours claim that he is eying a return to England.
And even though Tottenham’s chase of the Welshman appeared to have gone dead, Don Balon’s report is claiming that the 28-year-old is pushing for a move to Spurs instead of Manchester United.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is said to be looking to sell Bale, who is ‘closer to agreeing’ a move to Tottenham as he is willing to take a pay cut to join his old club.
The prolific forward, an earner of £350,000-a-week wages, stated after last month’s Champions League final that he would be sitting down with his agent to make a decision over his future at Madrid very soon.
