Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has revealed there is a good chance that he could choose to stay at the club even though there has been rumours of him leaving this summer.
The Belgium international has continued to be linked with a potential exit due to a lack of understanding between him and the club over his contract situation.
Manchester United are reportedly valuing Alderweireld at around £50m but Daniel Levy is seeking a fee closer to £70m for the defender.
The club was hoping to have made a firm decision over the future of Alderweireld before the beginning of the World Cup as things remain in the balance as ever.
Nonetheless, the 29-year-old has dropped a big hint that he could be staying at Tottenham this summer despite all of the transfer speculation surrounding his future.
“Yeah, why not?” said Alderweireld, when asked about staying at Spurs.
“I have two years left on my contract. I don’t know what is going to happen.”
