Defender expected to join Tottenham after contact between clubs

Based on a report coming from the Independent, Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen is expected to sign for Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season after contact between the two clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur have now gone two transfer windows without securing any new signings, and indeed, since the start of 2018, Lucas Moura has been the only player to join the club.

The absence of new signings have hardly affected Spurs though, with the team firmly in contention for the Premier League title at the moment while the Champions League run is still alive after a 3-0 thrashing of Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night.

But based on the Independent’s report, Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen is ‘likely’ to sign for Spurs this summer, with contact already made and a move progressing well at this point.

The 22-year-old defender has impressed many in the Serie A this season, making 22 appearances for his side while becoming one of Italian football’s brightest young players.
