Former Tottenham Hotspur star Mousa Dembele has spoken on why he decided to leave the club to join Guangzhou R&F in the Chinese league.
There have not been a lot of moves at the club in the last two transfer windows but there was one noticeable departure in the month of January.
After several months of speculation in the papers, Mousa Dembele finally completed his transfer switch away from the club during last month.
The 31-year-old dropped down the pecking order at the club in the latter stages of his Tottenham Hotspur career and his exit was a reasonable move for most fans.
Dembele has spoken to the media again on his move and the midfielder has explained that he moved to China because he wanted a “different experience”.
“I wanted to have a different experience in life. I heard already there is good food in Guangzhou. I will try this a lot. I think my family will enjoy it as well here.” the Belgian star said.
The midfielder, who moved to the club from Fulham, played in more than 250 games for Spurs before his exit.
