Former Tottenham Hotspur star Gary Lineker has made it clear that he still has an affection for the club that he represented decades ago.
In the course of three seasons as a Spurs player, the former goalscorer racked up a total of 67 goals in 105 league appearances as he won the FA Cup, courtesy of a narrow 2-1 triumph against Nottingham Forest at Wembley stadium.
During Leicester City’s title battle with Tottenham Hotspur a couple of seasons ago in the Premier League, Lineker made no secret of the fact that he was siding with the Foxes, who went on to claim one of the shocks of the century by becoming champions of English football.
But Spurs have always appreciated the part the Englishman played in their history and on social media, the club’s official account made a post, reflecting on the ex-striker’s best moments in the white shirt.
In response to that, the BBC pundit and former Spurs striker also expressed how he felt about his time at White Hart Lane.
Great memories. Great club. ?? https://t.co/ZTkRRJDsu8
