Harry Kane dropped: Tottenham starting line-up vs Newcastle predicted

All jokes aside, this really is it. Despite handing ourselves a seemingly huge advantage in the race for a top four finish when we beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, we are somehow back under pressure going into the closing week of the campaign.

With that said though, Tottenham still has its destiny under control and simply winning these remaining games will be enough to book a place in the Champions League next season.

Saturday’s defeat at West Brom was unexpected on paper but for those who have actually been watching the team in recent weeks, conceding that soft goal in injury time was not entirely a surprising moment.

Not turning against Mauricio Pochettino here but some of his tactical decisions have to be reassessed because we cannot keep dropping points due to avoidable errors.

Harry Kane is in need of a break to not only prepare for the World Cup but to also allow the rest of team – who are at better fitness levels – finish off the campaign.

That is why I’m going for the striker to be dropped for the Newcastle game and here’s my line-up…

  1. Are you barking? Drop Kane and Vertonghen? Our primary goalscorer and our best defender…like I said – barking.
