Christian Eriksen insists he is on the same level as former Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric, ahead of the duo’s clash in the World Cup as Denmark faces Croatia in the round of 16 of the tournament.
Both players have been in eye-catching form for their national teams in Russia this summer, with Eriksen providing the creativity for an under-strength Denmark side while Modric leads by example in Croatia’s midfield.
And when asked about how he felt about himself in comparison to the former Spurs star, Eriksen stated that he does not feel inferior to Modric by any means.
“I do not consider myself to be worse than him.” Eriksen told Danish newspaper BT
The Denmark international has become one of the first names on the team sheet at Tottenham and the club is reportedly eager to reward him with a new contract this summer.
Barcelona and Real Madrid have both been linked with moves for Eriksen as Mauricio Pochettino looks to retain the services of his key man.
