Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Joachim Andersen has admitted that this might be the right time for him to say goodbye to his current club and move on.
The 23-year-old happens to be a defender who is being fancied by a number of clubs after displaying his potential in the Serie A.
Andersen – who is valued at £26m (CIES Football Observatory) – would certainly fit in well at Spurs, especially if he comes as a replacement for Toby Alderweired, a player who is still unsure over whether he will remain in north London.
Based on a claim by Italian source Tuttomercatoweb.com, Premier League rivals Tottenham and Arsenal are interested in signing Andersen from Sampdoria this summer
The young defender himself appears to be keen on a move away from the Italian club and he has admitted to the media that ‘maybe it’s time to move on’ amid rumours of interest from other teams in Europe.
Andersen told Goal.com: “It could be time for me to further my career. I have loved my time in Sampdoria – the fans, the president, the staff, the players, the city – but maybe it’s time to move on to develop further.
“There are a number of interested clubs from Europe’s biggest leagues who are discussing with my agent and I’ll be making a decision shortly together with my family and my agent.”
