‘I’ve been told’: Roberts reveals big change he’s heard about Spurs transfer money

Former Tottenham Hotspur man Graham Roberts has lifted the lid on how much money the club has available to invest in the transfer market this summer.

Spurs faced a tough battle in the Premier League this season, especially after being knocked out of the race for the title around February when a run of successive defeats threatened to derail the campaign.

However, Pochettino managed to pick up his side to do just about enough in order to secure a fourth-place finish in the Premier League table at the end of the season.

What is next on the Spurs boss’ agenda is to help the club lift the Champions League crown when they face Liverpool in Madrid on Saturday.

The club has failed to spend in the transfer market over the past year but Graham Roberts has revealed that there is a big change and Tottenham are actually now making more money than usual to be spent.

“I’ve been told it’s a lot – a lot of money. The club is generating lots of money now.” Roberts told Love Sport Radio.

Roberts also added that uncertainty over the future of Pochettino is unwarranted since the Spurs boss is unlikely to depart.

“He (Pochettino) is not going anywhere, he loves playing the media.

“Poch isn’t going anywhere. I think the media keep digging it up and digging it up.

“If he wasn’t going to stay why would he sign a six-year contract, he’ll be here for a long time.”
