Mauricio Pochettino might have already signed a midfielder in Tanguy Ndombele but the Spurs manager might not be done just yet with signings to bolster his midfield ahead of next season.
The Tottenham boss now has a capable replacement for Mousa Dembele, who was sold by the club more than six months ago.
But it appears as though Spurs have been keeping an eye on a move to sign Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
The 22-year-old was part of the Ajax side who did brilliantly to reach the final of the Champions League last season before winning the Dutch Eredivisie title.
Van de Beek is already believed to have attracted the interest of several big clubs after his surperb season in Holland.
According to Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan, the midfielder has actually been chased by Tottenham.
Van der Kraan has revealed that Spurs are one of the clubs who sent out scouts to watch the Ajax star in action.
“I’ve seen scouts from Tottenham, Man Utd, Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle all at the Amsterdam Arena looking at him.” he said, as per the Express
“He’s an ideal player for the Premier League, he’s got the skills like most Ajax players, he’s got a big tank, he can run all day.
“But all these clubs have a priority list and van de Beek seems the perfect back-up for the big clubs.”
