Pochettino claims Spurs player has impressed him in training, he will start picking him more

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Juan Foyth has left a good impression on him in training as he continues to find out which players are worth keeping ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Spurs boss was criticized by some supporters for not doing enough to bring in new players during last summer’s transfer window.

But even though the club failed to sign any players, Pochettino has done incredibly well to take the team very far in both the Premier League and the Champions League where they are set to face Ajax in the semifinal first leg on Tuesday night.

With several injury worries troubling the Tottenham squad once again this year, there is an opportuinity for some fringe players to get more playing time in the final games of the campaign.

Juan Foyth has been recognized as one of the players who are likely to receive more chances to feature after Pochettino’s praise for the defender.

And when asked whether Foyth could be used by Spurs at right-back more often, Pochettino said:

“Yes. I think yes.” the Tottenham manager told Football.London

“I think he was very good. He played so well. The signal that he’s giving us in the training sessions, you can see and you can feel and you can trust him in that position.”
