Pochettino drools over ‘incredible boy’ who has only played 44 minutes for Spurs

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has had some kind words to say about one of his recruits from the summer transfer window as he continues to experiment with his new options in the squad.

After the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon, Tottenham were in search of another midfielder who had more creativity than combativeness to offer.

That search saw Pochettino land the services of Giovani Lo Celso very late in the transfer window as Pochettino bolstered his attacking midfield options.

The Argentine playmaker, who is now sidelined by an injury, has only played a total of 44 minutes (as per Transfermarkt) for the Spurs first team ever since his arrival.

According to BBC Sport, Lo Celso is set to spend six weeks on the sidelines due to a hip injury he suffered a few days ago, while on international duty.

Nonetheless, Pochettino has praised his countryman, who will be looking to feature more for Spurs when he returns to action.

As per Argentine outlet Ole, Pochettino said: “He is an incredible boy, I had talked with Kily Gonzalez about him because he had him in Rosario Central’s reserves. He is a great footballer, he only needs time to adapt.”
