South American expert Tim Vickery delivers verdict on Giovani Lo Celso to Spurs claim

South American football expert Tim Vickery has provided his stance on reports which have claimed that Real Betis star Giovani Lo Celso could make a move to London, after Tottenham’s £53m offer to sign him (BBC).

With future of Christian Eriksen still unresolved, it would be wise for Spurs to find a possible replacement for the Denmark star before he eventually makes his exit ahead of the start of next season.

Lo Celso is a player who has been rumoured to be a target for Mauricio Pochettino, with reports even claiming that the South American is keen on joining Tottenham (Sky Sports).

The 23-year-old managed to score the second goal for his country over the weekend as Argentina did well to defeat Venezuela for a place in the semi-finals of the 2019 Copa America tournament.

When asked about his take on Lo Celso being linked to Spurs, Tim Vickery heaped praise on the midfielder.

“He’s a very, very talented left-footed playmaker, you can certainly see the reason behind the Tottenham connection, with Christian Eriksen perhaps looking to move on,” he said, as per the Express

“Lo Celso would bring some of the things that Christian Eriksen brings, with perhaps a little bit more dynamism, maybe not as deadly as the Dane from set-pieces, but more dynamism over the field.

“He had a terrific season for Real Betis.”
