Spurs ‘have submitted offer’ to agree signing of 22-year-old playmaker

Tottenham Hotspur have finally ‘made an offer’ to sign midfielder Jack Grealish from Aston Villa this summer, based on a report from Sky Sports on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old is expected to leave his current employers this summer as the Championship side look to avoid a financial crisis, even though Chelsea are also said to have offered Villa a tempting package for his signature.

But the odds look to be in Tottenham’s favour, and based on today’s reports, the club has submitted an offer of £15m for the signing of Grealish.

Aston Villa’s asking price for the young attacking midfielder was higher than £15m but they are being forced to entertain lesser bids due to their desperate financial situation.

Grealish made 31 appearances for Villa last term, scoring three goals and assisting six others.

Should Tottenham’s move for the Englishman somehow fail to happen, Mauricio Pochettino is rumoured to be also interested in signing Norwich City midfielder James Maddison.
