Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has given some praise to the man who was in charge of Tottenham Hotspur’s major decisions in the transfer market this summer.
Spurs secured a place in the Champions League for another year as they limped towards the finish line in the race for a top four finish in the Premier League last term.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have also enhanced their reputation across Europe by reaching the final of the Champions League, where they were beaten by Liverpool.
All of that progress on the pitch came with the opening of the club’s beautiful new stadium, thanks to the leadership of chairman Daniel Levy.
Levy has his critics but there is no doubt about the enormous impact he has had at the club and Gary Neville has moved to highlight that.
“I believe they have got the best operator in football in Levy,” Neville said, speaking on Sky Sports’ Premier League season preview debate
“You might not agree. [He’s the best] in the Premier League. Absolutely the best for me.
“He gets some things wrong, of course he does. But he doesn’t get messed around, he stands his ground, stands up to managers.”
