Tottenhan Hotspur are said to be close to agreeing a deal which will see Toby Alderweireld leave the club, based on a report by the Mirror.
For several months this summer, various reports have claimed that the Belgium international has been considering a move away from North London after a fall-out with Mauricio Pochettino.
Manchester United have remained the 29-year-old’s main suitors, even though they are likely to be a major in Premier League title race next season.
The Mirror’s report is indicating that Alderweireld, an earner of £75,000-a-week, is ‘closing in on a move’ to Old Trafford following negotiations between the two clubs.
Tottenham are set to receive a sum of £60million in the sale of the 29-year-old who was part of the Belgium squad at the World Cup in Russia earlier this summer.
Losing Alderweireld will clearly be a blow to the squad in terms of the quality we are set to lose but for his age, the price being paid is a reasonable profit.
