Tottenham have made an offer to secure the signature of Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric this summer, based on reports coming from Spain.
The 32-year-old is currently on duty with the Croatian national team whom he scored for on Thursday, as they managed to thrash Argentina 3-0 in the World Cup.
With age no longer on his side, Real Madrid are believed to be interested in offloading Modric, who has a £440million release clause, in order to find a younger replacement in midfield.
Based on a report by Spanish source Don Balon, Tottenham have made an offer to sign their former star, with the view of bringing him back to north London, six years after he left for Spain.
It is being reported that Modric is keen on leaving the Bernabeu, unless he remains a guaranteed starter in the first-team under new manager Julen Lopetegui, who was recently chosen as Zinedine Zidane’s successor.
