Tottenham submit £30m offer to sign midfielder and get fast reply

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are yet to fill in the void created in midfield due to the departure of Mousa Dembele in January and Amadou Diawara would be a like-for-like replacement.

But according to reports from Italy, Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer to sign the midfielder which was immediately turned down by Napoli.

Diawara’s reason behind wanting to leave Naples is down to his preference of playing in a 4-3-3 formation over Carlo Ancelotti’s 4-4-2.

The same was confirmed by the former Real Madrid boss who was quoted as saying Diawara might leave in the summer.

The Guinean has started just 8 games in the Serie A this season, all in a number 6 position over his preferred role of a box to box midfielder and is unhappy with Ancelotti’s decision.

If Pochettino can offer him a role as a number 8 in his team, a move is very likely in the summer and according to the report, he could be available for a cheaper fee than the rejected bid of £30 million.
