Video: First ever goal scored at Tottenham’s new stadium

The first goal at Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium has now been scored and it was by one of the club’s own players.

J’Neil Bennett will be the boy who goes down in history for scoring at the club’s new ground after the youngster did well to curl the ball home from just outside the penalty box very early in the first half of the game.

The goal came only 11 minutes into the Tottenham youth team’s clash with Southampton as the club staged a mini event to build up to the grand opening of the stadium which will take place after the international break is brought to an end.

It was certainly a moment to remember for Bennett, who had over 30,000 fans in attendance cheering as Tottenham get ready for an exciting brand new era.

Here was how the 17-year-old managed to find the back of the net with a fine strike on Sunday afternoon.
